Cost & Energy Saving

The introduction of an airflow system that is capable of changing air flow rates depending on fume hoods' operation rate and human existence allows a drastic reduction in fan energy consumption as well as in heat source energy consumption for heating and cooling of fresh air intaken from outside.

Cost and energy saving by effectual airflow control

This is a high performance, cost and energy saving system, as it controls the airflow rates to the minimum required in accordance with fume hoods' operation rate, i.e. the total open areas of sashes, and also switches fume hoods' face velocity between 0.5m/s and 0.3m/s in response to the signals from human sensors.

System/Condition Nos. of fume hoods Exhaust capacity of fume hoods* Air supply fan Exhaust fan Air supply fan for air-curtain

Air-curtain type system 10 300CMH/hood 2.2kwh (2,000CMH) x 1 5.5kwh (10,000CMH) x 1 0.45kwh (700CMH) x 10
Variable air volume system 10 1,000CMH/hood 5.5kwh (1,000 to 9,000CMH) x 1 5.5kwh (2,000 to 10,000CMH) x 1 -

*Exhaust airflow rate from fume hoods
Note: The energy & cost saving effect of inverter control is not reckoned here.
