Yamatake Launches Sales of Low-cost Large-sized Electromagnetic Flowmeter Detectors Designed For Overseas Water Markets
Tokyo, September 14, 2007 - Yamatake Corporation has added to its WaterMAG series medium- and large-sized electromagnetic flowmeter detectors specifically designed for overseas water markets. Sales of these detectors were launched on September 1, 2007.
The production volume of Yamatake’s electromagnetic flowmeters is increasing again in fiscal 2007, showing a 10% gain over the previous year, which had been a record year in terms of production volume. In fiscal 2007, production volume is expected to exceed 20,000 units, for the first time in the Company’s history. The Japanese market accounts for more than 75% of sales by region; the Company will further promote sales overseas to lift the ratio of overseas sales to 30% or more in 2010.
As part of expanding overseas sales, Yamatake focused on improving price competitiveness in the development and releaseof large-sized detectors designed for the water market. These detectors can be used with Yamatake’s smart converter model MGG14C already available for overseas markets, thus offering the functions and performance of conventional electromagnetic flowmeters.
Improved price competitiveness was realized by limiting specifications to chloroprene rubber lining, stainless steel electrodes and the ANSI/DIN flange connection as well as modifying the manufacturing method. The lineup of WaterMAG series products ranges from 200 mm to 1000 mm in size, and standard price starts at 1.1 million yen, including a converter. Also 100-mm and 150-mm detectors will be added to the lineup and released for sales in the future.
