Yamatake Renews Its Smart Electromagnetic Flowmeter Converter for Overseas Markets
Tokyo, August 27, 2007 -- Yamatake Corporation has completely renewed its MagneW3000PLUS series electromagnetic flowmeter converter for overseas markets. Sales of these converters will start September 1, 2007.
Yamatake rapidly increased the production volume of electromagnetic flowmeters from 11,500 units in fiscal 2003 to 17,500 units in fiscal 2006. By 2010 the Company aims to expand sales to achieve a production volume of 30,000 units in addition to a global market share of 6%. The MagneW3000PLUS series of multifunctional smart electromagnetic flowmeters is positioned as the main electromagnetic flowmeter model for overseas markets, and has been adopted in a wide range of markets, such as chemicals, iron and steel, pulp and paper, food and beverages, pharmaceutical, and water and wastewater treatment.
To meet customer needs for increased functionality, the converter was fully redesigned as an all-in-one type. It is equipped with an analog output of 4 to 20 mA DC, open collector pulse output, and contact input and output as standard for input/output signals, as well as world standard HART communication protocol and Yamatake’s own SFC communication. The converter features an improved man-machine interface (MMI) to facilitate data-setting and adjustments during test runs or maintenance, and archiving of error history for improved maintainability after operation. For basic performance, the flowmeter’s noise resistance has been enhanced by three times for improved stability of flow rate measurements that affect plant operation control. It has also adopted the noise cut function, the averaging function, and the variable excitation frequency to optimize operation by software.
These new-version converters are interchangeable with conventional converters, and can be used as replacements or spares for existing electromagnetic flowmeters.
