Yamatake Corporation opens branch office in Hanoi: Accelerates business activities in Vietnam
TOKYO, July 4, 2007 -- Yamatake Corporation has opened a Hanoi branch of its Vietnam representative office, with the aim of expanding and developing its Building Automation(BA) business and Advanced Automation(AA) business in northern Vietnam. The Hanoi branch office started operations on July 1, 2007.
Under its three-year medium-term plan for fiscal 2004-2006, Yamatake Corporation strengthened its international business, particularly in China and other countries in Asia. This resulted in the international business to achieve its target of ¥20 billion in net sales in fiscal 2006, almost doubling its business in a span of three years.
As part of its initiative to develop the international business framework, Yamatake opened a Vietnam representative office in Ho Chi Minh City, in November 2005. This office conducts overall investigations of the Vietnam market for Yamatake’s BA and AA businesses, as well as serves to maintain smooth business operations. Its achievements as an operating base include supporting the project of a new airport currently under construction in Ho Chi Minh City, researching demand for factory HVAC in new constructions of Japanese-owned plants, and cultivating distributors based on market investigation.
The opening of the branch office in Hanoi will enable Yamatake to further strengthen its market research activities, conducted mainly for the local northern Vietnam area, and accelerate its business activities in Vietnam. Initially, 4 staff members will be located at the Hanoi branch, however, the number of staff would be increased according to market conditions.
Yamatake, in aiming for an annual growth rate approaching 20% for its international business, has plans to not only expand in its priority market of China and Southeast Asia, but also establish new operating bases in Vietnam and elsewhere in Asia, such as India and the Middle East. The opening of the Hanoi branch office is part of the plan to expand the international business framework.
