TOKYO, JAPAN (January 16, 2003) - On April 1, 2003
Yamatake Corporation and its wholly-owned subsidiaries Yamatake
Building Systems Co., Ltd. and Yamatake Industrial Systems Co.,
Ltd. will merge and reorganize its core businesses into "in-house
companies" or profit centers. Details of the renewed business
structure, management formation, and board of directors, executive
officers and corporate auditors as of April 1 were announced today.
Subsidiaries to reorganize as in-house companies
Yamatake's Building Automation business will be reorganized and named "Building Systems Company". The Industrial Automation business and Control Products business will be merged into a single entity and named "Advanced Automation Company".
The in-house company will be responsible for everything related to its designated business - from development, manufacture, sales through to service & maintenance.
Objectives of the merger and reorganization
The consolidation of development, manufacture, sales and service & maintenance into a single entity creates a comprehensive business promotion framework, which will enable Yamatake to respond more quickly to market and customer demands and provide the products and solutions that customers need, right when they need it.
Advanced Automation Company, which merges the industrial automation products, systems and solutions of Yamatake Industrial Systems with the extensive range of sensing and control components of Yamatake Corporation's Control Products Division, will vastly enhance its product, system and service offerings in process and factory control and expand its customer base.
Yamatake's strategic businesses - International Business and New Business - will also be revised. Presently handled solely by Yamatake Corporation, from April 1 both businesses will be fortified with the expertise, technologies and human resources of Building Systems Company and Advanced Automation Company in order to speed up the cultivation of new markets and drive business growth.
In-house company presidents named
Hiroaki Kobayashi, President of Yamatake Building Systems Co., Ltd., has been appointed President of Building Systems Company. Seiji Onoki, President of Yamatake Industrial Systems Co., Ltd., has been named President of Advanced Automation Company. These appointments take effect on April 1, 2003.
