TOKYO, March 18, 2009 – Yamatake Corporation of the azbil Group has merged two affiliates in North America and integrated the sales operations of three companies in China as of January 1 2009; the resulting company names both include “azbil”. Yamatake has now announced that from April it will rename its other overseas affiliates, similarly adopting “azbil,” as detailed below.

This renaming of overseas subsidiaries is aimed at establishing the azbil brand in global markets. As well as unifying brand and company names, this move is intended to advance business development with a concerted Group effort. Awareness of “azbil” has been increasing abroad to the point of vying with “Yamatake” and, with the momentum generated by this renaming initiative, coordination and synergies between Group companies will be further strengthened and accelerated, facilitating the establishment of the azbil brand.

It has also been announced that there are no plans to change the company names of Group members in Japan (Yamatake Corporation, Kimmon Manufacturing Co., Ltd., Yamatake & Co., Ltd., etc.).

Guided by the Group philosophy of “human-centered automation,” Yamatake will continue to enhance its capabilities for developing solutions to on-site issues faced by its customers, in Japan and overseas, striving to realize safety, comfort and fulfillment in people's lives and contributing to the global environment.
