Social Contribution Activities

Yamatake is carrying out its social contribution activities with the awareness as a responsible member of society to contribute to realizing a better society as a better corporate citizen. By actively contributing to society, we will strive for the progress of society and the environment as well as the employee’s growth and revitalization, and also for their achievements to be utilized in their work. One of our goals is to realize such an effect.

Yamatake’s social contribution activities

Yamatake is carrying out human-centered, social contribution activities that are unique to Yamatake, based on its principle of “people” and the “environment.” In fiscal 2005 the company’s many social contribution activities that had been carried out individually were classified into four categories according to their purpose and characteristics. Currently, the number of activities led by employees has surpassed the number of activities led by the company. Going forward, we will promote CSR and raise the number of activities led by the company while increasing our role as a corporate citizen. We will also carry out social contribution activities that are balanced among the four categories.

Position of Yamatake’s social contribution activities

  • Carry out activities that are unique to Yamatake, and be aware of our responsibility as a member of society.
  • Carry out ambitious activities that are a win-win situation for society, company and employees.
  • Carry out activities that become a part of our daily practice and take root in the company’s culture and climate.

 Activities led by the company

Earth Day Tokyo 2006

Yamatake supported Earth Day Tokyo 2006, an event to raise environmental awareness, by providing free use of Yamatake’s organic waste processor, Powerful Bactor. It processed the raw waste generated at this event into compost, which will be used in a tree-planting campaign in Shibuyaku, Tokyo.

Activities led by employees and supported by the company

Environmental education for elementary school students

Yamatake is supporting the environmental education program at Tokiwamatsu Elementary School in Shibuya-ku, Tokyo, located near Yamatake’s former Headquarters. This year the fourth graders participated in “Team Minus 6%,” in which students voluntarily took part in activities to reduce greenhouse gases. The students completed their studies with a tour of Yamatake’s Fujisawa factory, a model factory for energy conservation, and presentations to Yamatake employees. Many employees were touched by the students’ speeches.
